FastStream

FastStream is a Python library that offers type-based verification and dependency injection of FastAPI-like decorators to develop asynchronous services with message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, Redis and MQTT. It generates automatic AsyncAPI documentation by moving from your codebase, and allows you to run tests without the need for queue infrastructure thanks to the internal memory test client. With Pydantic and Msgspec support, the message automatically performs serialization and verification.

What can it do?
  • You write asynchronous messaging services with FastAPI-like decorators and type-safe verification infrastructure.
  • Without the need for an external queue system, you test subscribers and publishers with an in-memory test client.
  • With movement from its handlers, you automatically generate AsyncAPI documentation and provide OpenTelemetry integration.

FastStream: Effortless Kafka/RabbitMQ Event Stream Integration for Microservices

“FastStream simplifies the process of writing producers and consumers for message queues, handling all the parsing, networking and documentation generation automatically. Here's a look at the core features that make FastStream a go-to framework for modern, data-centric…”

FastStream: Effortless Kafka/RabbitMQ Event Stream Integration for Microservices

“How FastStream benefits from the usage of asyncio? Is it able to concurrently process another message while a message awaits for I/O operation? Is this the default behavior, or does it requires some parameter tweak? Does it behaves differently when using FastStream as a FastAPI…”
